AOL is a good package to start discovering the world of broadband, with good customer service, parental controls, spyware and virus protection software. With a new customer service call centre, the service has got much better than previously, and various users have noted, if their area does not support the broadband speed you have purchased with them they will give you a discount on your monthly bill.
The software they provide is comprehensive, but some people have noted problems connecting to the internet and with the software and USB ADSL Connection, as the internet connection still behaves as dialup and can be temperamental. It's better to request or buy a proper broadband router and setup the connection without the AOL software and then install AOL 9.0, for its parental controls and spyware software.
Once up and running, the service is very reliable.  |
